I finally finished this painting. It's been on my heart for a long time. Those of you that know me well, know that I use art as a way of working out what my heart is wrestling with. This one is called, 'Never Forgotten' and is dedicated to my first 3 babies who are with the Lord. During this season of my life, I was comforted in knowing that the Lord doesn't waste an opportunity to use pain or loss in the lives of those that seek Him. Although I felt just as barren and empty as this tree looks, I trusted the God was weaving something beautiful in my life under the surface that I could not see with my own eyes. Just days after I started this painting, I found out I was pregnant again with baby number 4. Today as I write this, I am just days away from this little guy joining our family and I couldn't be more thankful to God for his faithfulness to us. But I will never forget my other children and feel so blessed to of been chosen to be their mom and carry them for a short time. Heaven feels that much sweeter to me knowing that I will be reunited with them someday!

The Perfect Line

I know that it's been forever since I've posted. So today, I thought I'd share some illustrations. I've been obsessed with lines and repetition for quite some time. I am the kind of person that holds up fruit or vegetables into the light so I can see all the veins running through it. Kiwi and snow peas are absolutely stunning with the sun illuminating it! I can't help but think of how majestic our God is in his creativity and design. There is no comparison to perfectly placed lines that intersect and overlap at just the right place. These illustrations are my attempt at capturing some of that mystery of lines that I see in nature.

2012 Latte Art Calendar

It's finally done! After over a year in the making, we get to see the fruit of our work. This is the first artsy project that my husband and I have worked on together. We were hired by Rizzoli publishing out of NYC to put together a vintage latte art calendar. With my husband's stellar latte art and myself designing the sets plus with the help of the talented Dave Herbert as our photographer, it all came together great. If you love coffee or know someone who is an addict as much as my husband, than this calendar is the perfect gift for Christmas. It can be ordered at Amazon.com or at BarnesandNobles.com. They've already signed us up to make another Latte Art Calendar for 2013, which is going to have a nature theme, so stay tuned in about a year for that!!!
